Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform or purchase products/services. By using the Platform, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
POPIA Compliance
Globalot is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Personal information will be collected only for specific, lawful purposes, such as account creation, order processing, logistics, and payment. We will not collect, use, or share your information beyond what is necessary to provide services, unless you consent or the law requires it. You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information at any time. Direct marketing communications will only be sent with your consent, and you may opt out at any time. Our appointed Information Officer oversees compliance with POPIA. Contact details are provided in Section 11.
Orders and Payments
Orders placed on the Platform are offers to purchase, subject to acceptance by Globalot. Full payment is required before an order is confirmed. Accepted payment methods include EFT, credit/debit card, etc. All prices are listed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT unless otherwise stated.
Logistics and Fulfilment
Once an order is confirmed, Globalot arranges pickup from suppliers and delivery to buyers through trusted logistics partners. Ownership of products passes to the buyer once payment is confirmed and the goods are collected for delivery. Delivery times may vary and are dependent on third-party couriers. While we aim for timely delivery, delays outside our control may occur.
Returns, Refunds, and Cancellations
Buyers may return or cancel orders in line with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and Globalot’s policies. Refunds will be issued using the original payment method within 7–14 business days. Products must be returned unused, undamaged, and in their original packaging. Certain products (e.g., perishable, customised, or digital goods) may not be eligible for return. This will be clearly indicated before purchase.
Supplier Responsibilities
Suppliers listing products on the Platform warrant that products are accurately described and comply with applicable laws. They have the legal right to sell the listed products, and they will cooperate with Globalot in the event of customer disputes or product recalls. Globalot reserves the right to remove suppliers or products that breach these Terms.
User Responsibilities
When using the Platform, you agree not to engage in fraudulent or unlawful activities, misuse the Platform for spamming or hacking, or infringe on the rights of other users, suppliers, or Globalot.
Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform, including product listings, images, text, and logos, is the property of Globalot or its licensors. You may not reproduce, copy, or distribute any content without prior written consent.
Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided “as is,” and Globalot makes no warranties regarding uninterrupted access, product suitability, or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Globalot is not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from use of the Platform, products, or services. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where prohibited by law, including under the CPA or POPIA.
Third-Party Services
Globalot makes use of third-party service providers (e.g., couriers and payment gateways). While carefully selected, we are not responsible for their policies or actions. Users are encouraged to review third-party terms when engaging with such services.
POPIA Rights and Contact Information
In line with POPIA, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, request correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal information, object to your information being used for direct marketing, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of South African courts.
Amendments
Globalot reserves the right to update or amend these Terms at any time. Updates take effect immediately upon being posted on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.
